The Lemosho Route is one of the most scenic and rewarding ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Beginning from the western side of the mountain, the route passes through diverse landscapes while allowing gradual altitude gain and good acclimatization opportunities before reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5,895m. This route is known for beautiful scenery and strong summit success rates.
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Moshi after breakfast. You will meet your mountain crew and begin the drive toward Londorossi Gate for registration and permit formalities. After completing the park entry process, continue by vehicle toward the Lemosho trailhead where your climb officially begins.
The first trekking day is relatively gentle and serves as an introduction to the mountain. The route passes through a beautiful rainforest zone filled with dense vegetation, towering trees, and a peaceful natural environment. The trail is generally gradual and comfortable, allowing your body to begin adjusting to the altitude while enjoying the surroundings.
As you continue hiking through the forest, your guide will introduce you to the mountain environment and explain important details about the journey ahead.
